About Us
The Queen Mary’s Technical Institute (QMTI) was founded by Lady Marie Willingdon, wife of the then Governor of Bombay Provinvce on 16th May 1917 at Braganza Hall, Sassoon Barracks, Bombay which was then owned by Sir Jacob Sassoon Baronet.

The Institute was later shifted in 1923 to the Royal Artillery Barracks at Khadki located on 17.31 acres of B3 Defence land. The then Queen of England, Queen Mary was the first Patron and the Institute was named after her.Post Independence the President of India is the Patron-in-Chief, the Governor of Maharashtra is the Patron and the three Service
 
Chiefs are the Vice Patrons.GOC in C-Southern Command, FOC in C Western Naval Command, AOC in C Southern Western Air Command and Maintenance Command, are the Co-Vice Patrons.
